Focus on Professional Competency Homework Problems

Each chapter includes two types of Problems that help students focus on their professional development. One type is a Focus on Professional Competency problem that encourages students to explore in detail one of the twenty AICPA core competencies, tie the competency to cost accounting content, and reflect on their own competency development. 

Although definitions are taken from the AICPA Core Competency Framework (available at http://www.eca.aicpaservices.org), similar competencies are called for in a 1996 IMA study of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) used by management accountants in the workplace (accessed by searching for KSA on the IMA’s web site at http://www.imanet.org).
