Art Padilla earned his bachelor's degree at NC State in Raleigh and his Ph.D. at UNC-Chapel Hill. He writes about organizational leadership and management. He most recently served as the head of the management department at NC State and previously taught at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has won numerous teaching awards, two Fulbright Scholarships, and has served as a vice president of the 16-campus UNC system. He has received both the Holladay Medal at NC State, the highest faculty honor for teaching, research, and service, as well as the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from the Governor of North Carolina, the highest civilian honor in the state. He recently moved to Tucson, Arizona, to join his wife, a professor of psychology, at the University of Arizona.
