Dr. Shekhar Challa, a practicing Board Certified Gastroenterologist of over 25 years, is president and co-founder of Kansas Medical Clinic, a well-established multi-specialty group in the Northeast Kansas area. He is also the co-producer of the first-ever probiotic video game “Microwarriers: The Battle Within” (available summer 2012). Dr. Challa is an award-winning author of several books including “Winning the Hepatitis C Battle” (a Ben Franklin Award finalist), “Spurn the Burn – Treat the Heat of Acid Reflux Disease,” and now both the special edition and full versions of “Probiotics For Dummies.” During his career, he has been the principle investigator on 17 different clinical research trials. In 1997, he founded an osteoporosis service company which has become the largest mobile bone density testing company in the Midwest, providing services to more than 150 rural hospitals. In addition, he recently launched the first mobile GI service in the country.
