Cedric Neumann is Assistant Professor in Statistics at Pennsylvania State University’s Forensic Science Program. He gained his BSc in Forensic Science in 1988 from the oldest forensic programme in the world, at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, followed by a PhD on the interpretation of ink evidence. Professor Neumann collaborated on the International Ink Library project at the United States Secret Service (USSS) in Washington, DC, in 2001, where he laid the foundations of the USSS Digital Ink Library. Between 2004 and 2010, he has also led a research team at the UK Forensic Science Service (FSS), developing statistical frameworks for assessing the weight of fingerprint evidence. Professor Neumann has spoken at many international conferences and is an established author, with numerous journal articles to his name.

Professor Neumann will give a presentation on current topics in statistics and forensic science on July 31 at the American Statistical Association’s Joint Statistical Meetings in San Diego, CA.
