Wiley Announces New Agreement with Educational Testing Service

John Wiley & Sons, Inc., was today announced as the new publisher of research reports from Educational Testing Service (ETS), the world's largest nonprofit educational assessment and research organization. From January 2014, the ETS Research Report series will be available on Wiley Online Library.

Based in Princeton, New Jersey, ETS develops, administers, and scores more than 50 million achievement and admissions tests each year, at more than 9,000 locations across the United States and over 180 other countries.

Since its foundation in 1947, ETS has developed a range of research programs, covering psychometric and statistical methodology; educational evaluation; performance assessment and scoring; large-scale assessment and evaluation; cognitive, developmental, personality, and social psychology; and education policy. New research, as well as archives dating to 1948, will be published on Wiley Online Library, the world's broadest multidisciplinary collection of online resources.

“We are pleased to be working with one of the leading providers of scholarly content in the world to publish and disseminate ETS research findings,” said Ida Lawrence, Senior Vice President of the R&D Division, ETS. “Wiley’s global reach and digital publishing platform will help ensure that ETS research is available to the largest audience possible.”

“ETS has a long history of conducting studies into topics of wide interest to the educational research community,” said Jim Carlson, the Daniel Eignor Executive Editor of the ETS Research Report series. “ETS’s research reports have presented research that is the forefront of the field, but these publications often have been overlooked. This publishing arrangement with Wiley should lead to more readers finding the series and benefitting from years of research conducted by ETS.”

“Wiley and the ETS are both global organizations based in New Jersey, which specialize in supporting the international education community,” said Philip Carpenter, Wiley Vice President and Managing Director, Research Communications. “Our agreement will ensure that thought-leading ETS research can be accessed and shared by the largest international audience.”
