Wiley-Blackwell announces new publishing partnership with the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research

Chichester

Hoboken, NJ, 10, August 2009— Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, today announced that it has been selected by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, the leading international society devoted to the field of bone and mineral metabolism, as publisher of their publications Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR) and the Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism

JBMR is the world’s leading bone journal, publishing papers of the highest quality in all areas of the biology and physiology of bone, hormones that regulate bone and mineral metabolism, and pathophysiology and treatment of disorders of bone and mineral metabolism.  First published in 1986, JBMR is the top ranked journal in its specialty, with an impact factor of 6.443, and is among the top 4% of all journals included in ISI’s science citation index.

The Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism is the most widely circulated comprehensive source of information on bone and mineral diseases.  Since its first edition in 1990, the Primer has presented the most current findings on diagnosis, laboratory evaluation, treatment, clinical presentations, risk factors and bone density characteristics of osteoporosis, primary hyperparathyroidism, Paget’s disease of bone, childhood rickets, renal osteodystrophy and metastatic bone disease.

"The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research is pleased to initiate this new publishing partnership with Wiley-Blackwell,” said Marc K. Drezner, M.D., President of ASBMR. “We are confident that Wiley-Blackwell is best positioned to support the goals of the Society to make the scientific and clinical content of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and the Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism more widely available to researchers, clinicians, students and patients on a global scale.”

As a publishing partner for over 750 society partners, Wiley-Blackwell continues to provide the scholarly community with access to the highest-quality content available.  “Wiley-Blackwell is delighted to be selected by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research as their publishing partner,” said Patrick J. Kelly, Ph.D., Journals Publishing Director, Life Sciences North America.  “As a well known publisher in all the basic and clinical areas of relevance to the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and the Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism we will work to ensure that these preeminent publications maintain their positions as leading resources of information on bone and mineral research.”
