Wiley-Blackwell to Publish Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies

Tokyo, Japan

Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb), has announced that it will be publishing the Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies (APJFS) from February 2010.

Previously self-published, APJFS is the official English language publication of the Korean Securities Association, and Wiley-Blackwell’s third Korean Social Sciences and Humanities title.

Published bi-monthly, the Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies will focus on empirical and theoretical research in the capital markets of the Pacific Rim countries. Major topics to be featured in the journal include corporate finance, investments, capital and security markets, and quantitative methods of particular relevance to financial researchers.

The Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies received its first Impact factor in 2008, and is the only Asian finance journal to receive a listing.

President of the Korean Securities Association Professor Dongcheol Kim said, “This is a real opportunity for us to reach a broader audience. Wiley-Blackwell’s expertise as a leading society publisher will give us the strategic direction and resources to attract top quality content and reach an international audience – which will hopefully enable us to bring the quality of the journal up to the next level.”

“We are delighted that APJFS has chosen to move to Wiley-Blackwell next year,” confirmed Mark Robertson, Publishing Director at Wiley-Blackwell. “This partnership affirms our commitment to the Korean scholarly community, and to our drive to continually further the research in the social sciences.”
