Wiley and Rand McNally Map Out an Expanded Agreement
Global Publisher and World-Famous Cartography Company Partner to Offer New Regional Atlases to Higher Education Market

Hoboken, NJ, August 10, 2004 —  John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and Rand McNally & Company announced today that they have renewed and expanded an agreement for Wiley to be the exclusive distributor of Rand McNally’s Goode’s World Atlas, 21st edition, to the academic community. In addition, Wiley will publish and distribute new regional and course editions of Rand McNally's Goode's Atlas, as well as the Goode's World Atlas Map Workbook. This expanded, multi-year agreement builds upon a successful distribution partnership that Wiley and Rand McNally have enjoyed for a decade.

Bonnie Lieberman, Wiley Senior Vice President & General Manager, Higher Education, said, "Wiley is pleased to expand our partnership with Rand McNally, one of the world's oldest and most recognized producers of maps. The regional and course atlases will be excellent complements to our learning materials, and support Wiley's continuing mission to deliver value and choice to students and educators through our higher education products and services."

"For more than 80 years, the Rand McNally Goode's World Atlas has been a standard text for college-level geography study, with accurate physical, political, thematic, city, environmental and even ocean floor maps,” said Robert Apatoff, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rand McNally. “Through our expanded distribution partnership with Wiley, a highly regarded name in educational publishing, we now also will provide regional and course editions of the Goode’s Atlas for higher education.”

Rand McNally's Goode’s World Atlas, 21st edition, is available with all Wiley geography titles. The new regional editions and course editions of Rand McNally's Goode's Atlas can be purchased separately or as part of Wiley's geography textbook sets, and the Goode's World Atlas Map Workbook contains blank world regional maps with accompanying exercises and activities for students.

The following titles will be available in Fall 2004:
