Wiley-Blackwell to Publish The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering

Hoboken, August 16, 2007 —  Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb), today announced a new agreement to publish The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering on behalf of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE). Wiley-Blackwell will assume publishing responsibilities beginning with Volume 86, Number 1, February 2008.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with the CSChE in their mission to both disseminate indispensable information and to champion the work of the Canadian research community, said Jon Glover, Wiley-Blackwell Associate Publisher, Physical Sciences Journals.

The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering has been published by the CSChE, a Constituent Society of The Chemical Institute of Canada, since 1957. Recognized internationally as one of the leading publications in its field, the journal contains original theoretical and practical research papers, in either English or French, in the areas of chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, environmental process engineering, and applied chemistry. The journal publishes six times per year. Each issue contains approximately 120 pages of fully reviewed articles, notes, or reviews.

Led by editor Kumar Nandakumar, Ph.D., Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta, Wiley-Blackwell will publish The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering in print and online via Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com). In addition to launching the CSChE’s new journal cover, Wiley-Blackwell will provide online access to select articles in advance of print publication via its Early View service and will launch an extensive backfile initiative to digitize journal content prior to Volume 80. Currently, issues are available online starting August 2002.

“By utilizing Wiley-Blackwell’s extensive publishing experience to reach a broader audience, as well as to provide electronic access to our historic content, the agreement will further advance our goals of helping professionals remain current with technology and encouraging the development of chemical enterprise,” said David T. Fung, Ph.D., MCIC, chair and CEO of the ACDEG Group of companies and president of the CSChE.
