GRAND PRIZE -- Our grand prize winner for 2009 - and the recipient of a visit from Arthur Frommer, as well as their choice of 50 free Frommer's guides - is the Moline Public Library in Moline, IL.
The Moline Public Library transformed their library into a train station – complete with a cardboard Arthur Frommer as the train conductor collecting tickets and Pauline Frommer waiting next to the “Frommer’s express” train. Children were invited to play the Frommer’s Adventure hunt, where they were given a stamp in their passport at each of the six Frommer’s displays. The Moline Public Library’s use of patron participation and their references to the many ways to get Frommer’s content earned them the top spot in this year’s contest.
