Wiley Series in Environmentally Conscious Engineering
The Wiley Series in Environmentally Conscious Engineering will be made up of a number of contributed books, each covering a broad subset of information. Planned titles include:
The target market for the series will be practicing professionals, both engineers and managers, and upper level engineering students.
Letter From the Series Editor — Myer Kutz
I created the idea of the Wiley Series in Environmentally Conscious Engineering and collaborated with Wiley to develop it because we wanted to make a difference in an area with a tremendous impact on the future of life on earth. What we found, as contributors were gathered, is that there are many professionals in the engineering community who share this desire, some of them quite passionately. Their commitment to finding practical ways to preserve the environment, while still providing the goods and services that people need, is reflected in the well-considered, articulate, and useful chapters in these series books.
The purpose of the series is to provide engineers with knowledge about the principles and practices that will enable them to factor“environmental consciousness” into their daily work, whether they are designing something, producing it, processing the materials and chemicals that constitute it, handling and transporting it, or are responsible for providing the power to any of these operations. Rather than combine all of this information into a single, very large handbook, we decided on smaller volumes that would address individual, but still broad-based, topics, such as mechanical design, manufacturing, materials and chemicals processing, power generation, transportation, and materials handling. To accomplish the series’ goals, contributors come from a wide range of disciplines, including mechanical, industrial, materials, and chemical engineering, to name just a few. We urge readers to incorporate in their work the advice of these knowledgeable contributors.
- Environmentally Conscious Mechanical Design (0-471-72636-2)
- Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing (0-471-72637-0)
- Environmentally Conscious Material and Chemical Processing (0-471-73904-9)
- Environmentally Conscious Alternative Energy Production (0-471-73911-1)
- Environmentally Conscious Transportation (0-471-79369-8)
The target market for the series will be practicing professionals, both engineers and managers, and upper level engineering students.
