In a new agreement between Microsoft and Wiley, schools can now receive a new membership to the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance by adopting a Wiley Higher Education textbook in any of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines. Faculty can notify their Wiley representative of their interest in attaining the license. They will be contacted with more information about the program and process to access the benefits. It is department wide license. The software available in the MSDN AA program, Microsoft’s operating systems, enterprise servers, and developer tools, is available to all faculty, staff, and students in the department for teaching and research uses. Once a program coordinator in the department is named, Microsoft will authenticate the coordinator and student roster, and the software will become accessible by download from a remote server. This license is normally $499 in the first year. The fee is being waived by Microsoft and Wiley.
Here is the software included in this license:
- Microsoft® Visual Studio® Professional
- Microsoft® Visio® Professional
- NEW! Microsoft® Project Professional
- NEW! Access to MSDN Subscriber Downloads Web site for program administrators
- NEW! Software distribution to students through e-academy Web site
