About Howell Book House
In 1961, Elsworth Howell took his love of dogs into book publishing, and Howell Book House was born. The company's initial offerings focused on canines, and dog lovers and fanciers looked to the publications for care and breeding information they could find nowhere else. Over the years, Howell Book House has expanded its list and mission to include books on a full spectrum of pets. From dogs and cats to rabbits and reptiles, horses to hermit crabs, fish to ferrets, and ponies to parrots, we publish a full spectrum of books that offer animal lovers the very best information available.
The Howell Equestrian Library™ includes many classic references as well as new and diverse offerings on horses and horsemanship that help equestrians understand, care for, train, ride, show, and breed their equine companions. Our ever-expanding library of canine titles spans topics ranging from the latest training techniques to tricks and treats. Our cat, bird, aquatic, and small animal books focus on the special qualities of these pets and help readers provide the best care possible! The Howell Gift Collection features special books that will enchant readers. An emerging narrative program, launching with the heartstring-tugging Pawprints of Katrina, provides wonderful reads for pet lovers.
Over the years, the breadth and diversity of the Howell publishing program has changed and expanded. With that expansion, however, we've always maintained our mission of helping readers forge more rewarding relationships with their pets. This new catalog showcases our latest offerings and reflects our ongoing commitment to being the definitive resource pet owners turn to and trust.
