Understanding Children's Worlds
Psychological research on children's development can have a profound influence on how children are brought up, cared for, educated and studied. Even if our knowledge is incomplete, many psychologists argue, we have a responsibility to share information with all those concerned in the care, education and study of children. The central aim of this series is to encourage developmental psychologists to set out the findings and implications of their research for others - teachers, doctors, social workers, students and fellow researchers - whose work involves the care, education and study of young children and their families. Ideas are presented in an interesting and accessible way, and potential consequences for those working with children are discussed. By making available recent innovative research to other professionals and other disciplines, the series provides a vital resource.
