Wiley Online Library To Launch in July
We are proud to announce the upcoming launch of Wiley Online Library, the world’s broadest and deepest multidisciplinary collection of online resources covering life, health, and physical sciences, and social science and the humanities. Built on the latest technology and designed with extensive input from scholars around the world, Wiley Online Library will deliver seamless integrated access to over 4 million articles from 1,500 journals, 8,000 books, and hundreds of reference works, laboratory protocols and databases from John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and key imprints including Wiley-Blackwell, Wiley-VCH, and Jossey-Bass. With a clean and simple interface offering intuitive navigation, enhanced discoverability, expanded functionalities, and a range of personalization options, Wiley Online Library will replace Wiley InterScience, which has served the world’s scientific and scholarly communities since 1997.
Ease of Navigation, Ease of Discovery
Developed in consultation with authors, researchers, students, society partners, and library customers from around the world, the Wiley Online Library interface makes it easy to discover, read, download, and cite current journal and book content, EarlyView articles, backfiles, related material, and supporting data. Access Icons will clearly identify the content available through institutional licenses, society memberships, author-funded OnlineOpen articles, and as freely available content. Readers will be able to enlarge images within articles and expand citations to view full references with links.
Comprehensive search engine optimization ensures easy discoverability of content, delivering relevant and immediate results to users, and increasing the likelihood of citations for our authors. Content can be viewed by subject category, with books, journals, reference works, and databases cross-searchable by subject. Related articles are easy to find, and readers can follow research back and forth with reference linking and dynamically updated citing article links.
Researchers will be able to sign up for email alerts and RSS feeds to stay up-to-date with the latest published research in their fields, and to receive journal tables of contents alerts, EarlyView and AcceptedArticles alerts, and e-newsletters and updates in selected subject areas.
Tracking Publications, Supporting Communities
With the journal or book title as the prominent brand at all levels, including article and chapter level, users can easily identify their favorite publications regardless of how they have arrived on the site. Journal and society communities can share news, information, and events on specially customized journal home pages.
Wiley Online Library will provide new opportunities for libraries to increase the visibility of their licensed content and drive users to it within and outside library catalogs; library patrons will immediately recognize their library as providers of the service by institutional branding throughout the site.
A Supported Launch, Continuous Development
Customers and researchers will receive ongoing information and support up to, during, and following the late July launch of Wiley Online Library, with all Wiley InterScience content and licenses transferred to the new site to enable seamless access for users and subscribers. If you are registered on Wiley InterScience or track your journal articles on Author Services, you will receive more details by email in the weeks before launch.
Wiley Online Library is built on a new underlying architecture that will support the ongoing development of the service, the addition of new features and functionality, and new ways to present scholarly and reference material, into the future. A regular schedule of updates and new features will follow the launch of the new website.
