How can I access the online version of ULLMANN’S?
The web-based version of ULLMANN’S Encyclopedia will be accessible with common Web browsers from the different operating platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux). The Encyclopedia is anchored in the Reference Works section of the Wiley online service Wiley Online Library.
What licenses are available?
There are two types of licenses for online access to ULLMANN’S within Wiley Online Library:
- The Basic Access License for institutional customers on calendar year basis.
- The Enhanced Access License offering multi-year licensing.

Is it possible to upgrade my Wiley Online Library license for ULLMANN’S Encyclopedia?
Yes, it is possible anytime to upgrade the number of sites within the network environment.

How can I test the online version?
As a non-subscriber to ULLMANN’S, you can browse the complete table of contents and perform searches on the entire database and review the hit list. The access to the main content is denied. But to view the way the content is presented to the user, there are some articles that can be accessed for free.
Is it possible to subscribe to the updates?
Yes, it is. For information see How to Order.
Which regulations will apply if I do not wish to take the update?
Online access will terminate after the subscription period. However, on request, a so-called "archival license" that permits infinite access to the DVD contents, can be obtained from the publisher, conditions depending on duration of previous subscription to ULLMANN’S.
How often will there be updates?
New and updated articles are added to ULLMANN's Online on a quarterly basis.
What exactly will be changed in an update?
Articles will be revised to ensure that new developments are covered and all data, e.g., commercial information, toxicological data, patents and references, are as up-to-date as possible. The degree of revision varies between minor changes and completely rewritten articles. Further, new articles will be included wherever the Editorial Advisory Board sees a need for them due to technological and methodological advances. See also New and Revised Articles.
