Synapse

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for SYNAPSE,  an online journal with a broad readership of neurobiologists , neurologists, psychiatrists, neuropharmacologists , biochemists, and pre-clinical and clinical  neuroscientists interested in basic science research.
SYNAPSE publishes articles concerned with all aspects of synaptic structure and function including neurotransmitters, neuropeptides, neuromodulators, receptors, gap junctions, metabolism, plasticity, circuitry, mathematical modeling, ion channels, patch recording, single unit recording, development, behavior, pathology, and toxicology.

We welcome:
bullet   Original Research Articles
bullet   Short Communications representing data on research projects which have progressed to a point where the preliminary observations should be disseminated.
bullet   Review Articles covering timely topics in the field.
We also invite submissions for three upcoming special issues:
bullet   The Super-Resolution Revolution in Neuroscience
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, September 30th, 2014
A focused issue on the impact and implementation of super-resolution microscopy techniques (e.g. PALM, STED, STORM, quantum dot imaging, EM tomography,...) in recent neuroscience research
bullet   The Precise Preservation of Spike Timing in Auditory Pathways
Submission Deadline: Friday, January 30th, 2015
A focused issue on the synaptic and cellular specializations that allow auditory circuits to compute time differences with submillisecond accuracy.
bullet   Lipids and Synaptic Vesicle Recycling at Active Zones
Submission Deadline: Monday, March 30th, 2015
A focused issue on the role of specialized membrane lipids in synaptic vesicle exocytosis and endocytosis at active zones.
