In the box headed "I'm Studying For________" the third paragraph is in error.
The sentence beginning "For instance, roughly 18 percent..." should read as follows:
"For instance, roughly 18 percent of the IT Tech bonus exams deal with personal computer components, whereas 45 percent of the questions in the Depot Tech exams are on personal computer components."
|lxvii||Text correction: Assessment Test, Answer to Question 31
The answer given is C.
The correct answer should be "B. ATTRIB -H WORD1.DOC"
The explanation is correct as given.
Under "SCSI Device Installation and Configuration," first bullet point, the first sentence should read:
"Internal cabling uses a 50-wire ribbon cable (SCSI-1 and SCSI-2) or a 68-wire ribbon cable (SCSI-3) with several keyed connectors."
|105||Replace "Lower numbers are higher priority."
Replace "Lower numbers are higher priority." with "SCSI priorities, from highest to lowest, are established as 1, 2, or 4 groups of 8 descending IDs, depending on the width of the address bus, which could be 8, 16, or 32 bits. The tricky part is remembering that with 2 or 4 groups of 8 IDs, each sequence of 8 descending IDs is larger than the last, but lower in priority. Therefore, with a 32-bit bus, the sequence of IDs from highest to lowest priority is 7 through 0, 15 through 8, 23 through 16, and 31 through 24. The ID 7 is always the highest priority, regardless of bus width. This odd priority-sequence came about for the sake of backward compatibility. Originally, the 16-bit bus had to be able to interoperate with the 8-bit bus but had no way of imposing its new IDs on the older technology. So, the new, higher-valued IDs could not trump the older IDs, and yet the descending-group-of-8 convention was maintained. Eventually, the 32-bit bus followed suit for the same reason."
|2||134||Text correction: Review Question 15.
The question as written is possibly ambiguous. It should read:
?Which of the following is the minimum ATA standard that supports UltraDMA/133??
|2||134 & 136||Text correction to Review Question 17
Change the question to read:
"Internally, what types of wire ribbon cables can SCSI use? (Choose all that apply.)
Change the answer on pg. 136 to read:
"B, C. Internal SCSI-1 and SCSI-2 use a 50-pin cable and internal SCSI-3 uses a 68-pin cable."
|2||137||Chapter 2, Review Question 19
Chapter 2 review question 19, gives the answer as B (page 137). The correct answer is C. This is also incorrect in the test on the CD.
Under the heading LCD Resolution, the sentence "At 1024x768, the screen will display 1024 rows of pixels 768 columns wide, for a total of 786,432 pixels."
"At 1024x768, the screen will display 768 rows of pixels 1024 columns wide ......."
The first sentence, "Bluetooth is..."
Should read: "Bluetooth is a wireless standard that uses radio waves in the 2.4 to 2.485 GHz range."
The second sentence, "Class 2 is..."
Should be clarified. Class 2 Bluetooth technology does not require line of sight to operate. However, performance is greatly enhanced when the devices have line of sight to each other, as indicated on pg. 161, second paragraph under "Bluetooth."
|CD Bonus Exams||CD: IT Tech Bonus Exam 2, Question 42
The last sentence in the question reads:
"What services are associated with port 21?"
It should read:
