An exciting new guide to listening to music from the highly acclaimed creator and star of "What Makes It Great(r);," heard and enjoyed by millions on NPR
Rob Kapilow has often been compared to Leonard Bernstein in his ability to help novice listeners enjoy classical music. In this book, he uses fresh language and new approaches to help enrich the musical experience of today's listeners. Musical examples, with an animated scroll to aid those unaccustomed to reading music, will be available for download via a companion Web site. This is the latest book in the Wiley/Lincoln Center Publishing Alliance.
"Kapilow gets audiences in tune with classical music at a deeper and more immediate level than many of them thought possible."--Los Angeles Times
Rob Kapilow (River Vale, NJ) is a composer, conductor, pianist, and music commentator. His "What Makes It Great(r);," which began on NPR, has been developed into full-length concert evenings that are a mainstay of Lincoln Center's Great Performers series and the Celebrity series of Boston, as well as into CD recordings and video podcasts. He has been featured in the print media and on television, including NBC's Today show.
