Introduction xvii Update to information regarding taking the CompTIA A+ Certification exam
The first sentence after the Note states: "...you have 90 days from the time you pass one exam to pass the second test."

CompTIA no longer requires candidates take the second exam 90 days or less after the first exam. Candidates can take the second exam whenever they want.
