Twelve of Snyder’s chapter-opening “Introductory Observations” exercises have been developed into web-based virtual laboratory exercises.  Developed by Late Nite Labs, these exercises allow instructors to incorporate a laboratory component into their course, even if students do not attend a regular laboratory session.  Instructors can assign labs as homework and receive students’ completed lab reports; the exercises can be used as prelabs to precede in-class exercises or in lectures as demonstrations; and students can use the exercises on their own to reinforce the concepts that they are learning.
