  • AMP (Analyzing Multi-Concept) Examples

These new examples give students detailed instruction on how to solve more difficult (Level 2) problems. These types of problems usually require the student to algebraically combine two physics concepts in order to get the answer. Many students struggle with algebraic manipulation, and AMP examples visually map out the different algebraic steps needed.  Other texts assume that students know how to do this.

  • GOTM (Guided Online) Problems

With the publication of PHYSICS 7e, we have added a new problem type to WileyPLUS. GOTM Problems are multi-layer, tutorial-style problems that lead students through the key steps of problem solving (conceptual understanding, algebraic manipulation, quantitative reasoning). Each GOTM Problem includes an algebraic answer entry step.Wrong answer feedback helps students build transferable problem solving skills, and correct answer feedback reinforces good work. All student responses, at each problem-solving layer, are recorded in the online grade book so that instructors can fully evaluate whether students have mastered material.

  • Vector Notation Modernized

In 7e, the vector notation has been changed from the old-fashioned boldfaced approach to the modern arrow notation, making it visually clearer and easier to write than boldface.

  • WileyPLUS

All end-of-chapter problems from PHYSICS 7e have been coded for WileyPLUS, except for those that don’t lend themselves to computer grading (e.g, “Draw a graph of . . .”). All coded problems also have a HINT now.
