Briefly reviews the concept of TQM and the implications of the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award education pilot project criteria. This overview is followed by an examination of the experiences of seven institutions as they worked to improve the effectiveness of the classroom through application of the quality principles to the teaching and learning process.
