Botanical taxonomy, research results in plant systematics and related disciplines are covered by Gleditschia.

Of special interest are new results in connection with the mapping of the flora of Berlin and its surrounding countryside, "Mark Brandenburg". In addition, the journal publishes papers relevant not only to Berlin but also to Central Europe, e.g. problems concerning the Eurasiatic flora.

The journal also includes contributions on geobotany, floristics, history, botanical gardens, collections and the reports of scientific meetings.
