  • Description

The Journal of Applied Polymer Science, through full research papers and compact reviews, covers all applications of polymers, from composite and structural materials, to those used in packaging, biomedical implants, plastic electronics, energy, and many more. The journal bridges the crucial gap between basic research and patenting of an invention, targeting a broad audience of academic and industrial researchers, as well as the increasingly important world of scientists and engineers at start-up companies.

Editors

Stefano Tonzani

Stefano Tonzani, PhD
Editor-in-Chief

Stefano received his PhD in chemical physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, studying radiation damage from DNA and electron-molecule interactions. He followed this with a postdoc in nanoscience at Northwestern University, where he studied DNA conduction and block copolymer self-assembly. Moving to publishing, Stefano took a position as materials science editor for Nature, Nature Publishing Group’s flagship journal, in 2008. He also worked on the development and launch of Nature Communications, acting as the physical, materials, and earth sciences editor for this new journal. After a brief stint in market research for clean technologies, Stefano became the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science in June 2011..

Hilary J. Crichton

Hilary J. Crichton, PhD
Associate Editor

Hilary studied chemistry at the University of Edinburgh (UK) before completing a PhD on inelastic energy transfer in small free radicals at Heriot-Watt University (UK). In July 2004 she joined the publishing department of the Royal Society of Chemistry, working on the journals Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics and Faraday Discussions. In June 2008 she moved to the journal Nature Materials where she handled papers covering all types of soft matter, organic electronics and self-assembled systems. After a brief spell working at the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg, Hilary became an associate editor of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science in July 2011.
