Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering is an international journal which publishes both short and full length refereed papers describing significant developments in numerical methods and the application of such techniques to engineering problems.

It is intended that the journal will also encompass the emerging field of numerical methods in the medical sciences. Contributions are particularly encouraged in biomedical engineering applications, such as patient specific modelling, biofluid dynamics, medical imaging, human organ modelling, drug delivery, soft tissue modelling, human body electromagnetics, molecular biology, medical device design and health care.

Articles should present new research results in topics such as, numerical algorithms, programming techniques, high performance computing, mesh generation, numerical verification and validation, and multiscale modelling with applications to solid, structural and fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, dynamics, acoustics, electromagnetics, medical sciences and similar areas .
