Resources for Students

Chapter exams
Chapter exams, prepared by Kay Fernandes at Trident Technical College, give students a way to test themselves on course material before exams. Each chapter exam contains fill in the blank, application, and multiple choice questions that provide immediate feedback with the correct answer. Each question is also linked to a learning objective within the book to aid them in concept mastery.

Flashcards
This interactive module gives students the opportunity to test their knowledge of vocabulary terms.

Handbook for Non-Native Speakers
This handbook clarifies idioms, special phrases, and difficulty vocabulary to help students that do not use English as their first language.

Student Study and Review Guide
Prepared by Karen Huffman and Richard Hosey, this valuable resource offers students an easy way to review the text in-class quizzes and exams. For each textbook chapter, the study guide offers numerous tools designed to save students time, while also helping them master the core information. These tools include chapter outlines, core learning outcomes, key terms, key term crossword puzzles, matching exercises, fill-in exercises, an active learning exercise, and two sample tests (20 items each) with text-referenced correct answers. Each chapter of the Student Study and Review Guide also includes a copy of the Visual Summaries that appear at the end of each chapter in the text. Students in the past have copied these summaries to use during class lecture or text reading, so they have been included in the guide to make student studying easier.
