Description

Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, an official journal of The Triological Society, is a peer-reviewed, open access journal focused on the rapid dissemination of the science and practice of otolaryngology head and neck surgery. As a companion journal to The Laryngoscope, the focus of Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology is to publish high quality original peer-reviewed research, across the spectrum of basic and clinical research, in an open access format to the world-wide community. The Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology journal will publish contributions in the form of comprehensive reviews, research articles, clinical trials, short reports, in-depth perspectives, open-peer commentaries, theoretical and/or translational papers. Negative results and confirmatory studies may be published as short communications.

Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals.

The Triological Society and Wiley appreciate the importance of discoverability of journal content and, while acceptance is not guaranteed, Wiley works closely with all the major services listed below to ensure that titles are submitted for evaluation and reviewed according to the schedule specified by each service. Society owned journals like Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology generally fare very well in terms of acceptance.

Thomson Reuters Web of Science

Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology will be submitted for consideration by Thomson Reuters shortly. If accepted, coverage will most probably start with their new Emerging Sources Citation Index; in due course the Journal will be evaluated for the Science Citation Index (Expanded) where it will be eligible for inclusion in the Journal Citation Reports and an Impact Factor.

MEDLINE (NLM)

Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology will be submitted for indexing here on or before the end of 2018.

PMC (formerly PubMed Central)

Wiley ensures that Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology is fully compliant with the open access mandates by depositing files of final issue versions of all articles to PubMed Central. Here is the process for all articles:

  1. Wiley automatically deposits the final issue version of the articles to PMC immediately upon receipt of the Article Publication Charge* payment and publication of the article in an issue.
  2. For the Open Access articles which publish under Creative Commons licenses, the PMCID is available as soon as the article has been processed and published by PMC (without embargo).
  3. PMC has an average lead time of around 2 weeks from issue publication to process content and make the PMC IDs available.
