2009 FMA CONFERENCES

2009 Asian Conference
The 2009 Asian Conference will be held May 6-8, 2009 at Xiamen University in Xiamen, China.

FMA's Asian Conference will be a new type of meeting for FMA International - smaller than our traditional meetings and operating only a few high-quality concurrent sessions, but will still incorporate the unique features of FMA's other meetings, including:

• Submitted papers selected by a program committee
• Prominent emphasis on "bridging theory and practice" with specific interest in describing
and evaluating current financial and economic conditions in the region
• Ample opportunities for participants to meet one another in a social setting
• Doctoral symposium similar to the other FMA meetings

2009 FMA European Conference
The Fourteenth Annual FMA European Conference will be held June 3-5, 2009 at the Jolly Hotel Ambasciatori in Torino, Italy.

FMA's European Conference brings together academicians and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making. The meeting provides a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics.


Doctoral Student Consortium
FMA's European Doctoral Student Consortium is held in conjunction with the FMA European
Conference. This consortium brings together leading scholars and doctoral students to discuss
current research issues and the students' dissertations.

2009 FMA Annual Meeting
The Thirty-Ninth Annual FMA Meeting will be held October 21-24, 2009 at the Nugget Hotel in Reno, Nevada.

FMA's Annual Meeting brings together academicians and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making. The meeting provides a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics.

The program includes traditional research paper presentations, with the purpose of presenting new and unpublished research. Criteria used to select papers for the program include the nature of the research problem, implications of the proposed research, the quality of the research design, and the expected contribution of the research to the literature.

FMA's Doctoral Student Consortium will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 under the direction of Michael Lemmon, University of Utah. This Consortium brings together leading scholars and doctoral students to discuss current research issues and the students' dissertations.

Program Track Chairs
To maintain the quality of its program, FMA uses a track chair system. Track chairs receive the evaluation of presentation proposals from the Program Committee members and design sessions based on their evaluations. The tracks chairs for 2009 are:
