Children & Society is an interdisciplinary journal publishing high quality research and debate on all aspects of childhood and policies and services for children and young people. The journal is based in the United Kingdom, with an international range and scope.
Children & Society embraces academic research, policy and practice in relation to the health, education and welfare of children from infancy through to adulthood. The journal informs all those who work with and for children, young people and their families by publishing innovative papers on research and practice across a broad spectrum of topics, including: theories of childhood; children's everyday lives at home, school and in the community; children's culture, rights and participation; children's health and well-being; child protection, early prevention and intervention.

New Joint Book Review Editor Required
A new joint book review editor is required to work with Nicola Hilliard, Children & Society joint book review editor and Head of the Library and Information Service at NCB. The main tasks include identifying suitable reviewers for books received, editorial work associated with book reviews and attendance at twice-yearly editorial board meetings in London. It is expected that the new joint book review editor will have an established reputation in one or more major areas of child research, an interdisciplinary approach and a broad-based knowledge of themes, issues and policies relating to children and young people, covering the full age-range of 0-18 years.

Now accepted for coverage in the Social Science Citation Index!
We are delighted to announce that Children & Society has been accepted into the ISI Social Science Citation Index beginning Volume 22 (2008). ISI will review citations over the following two year period and produce the first impact factor for Children & Society for 2010 (published June 2011) based on 2008 and 2009 citations.
