New Co-Editor for Dermatologic Surgery
Following a global search, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, announced that Desiree Ratner, M.D., will be the new co-editor of their official journal, Dermatologic Surgery (DSU).

"A specialist in the treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, Dr. Ratner will oversee the publication of oncology and reconstruction manuscripts," said Editor-in-Chief William P. Coleman III, M.D. "With her appointment, our goal is to continue our evolution of DSU to maintain its relevance and usefulness for its readers."

Dr. Ratner is Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Co-Director of the Melanoma Center at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. In addition, she is the George Henry Fox Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University. Her clinical practice focuses on cutaneous oncology and reconstruction, and she directs a two year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology. She has previously served as chairperson for the Greater New York Melanoma/Skin Cancer Screening program and is a passionate spokesperson for the importance of annual skin examinations.
