Animal Science Journal, the official English peer-reviewed publication of the Japanese Society of Animal Science, publishes Original Articles and Review Articles in all fields of animal and poultry science: genetics and breeding, genetic engineering, reproduction, embryo manipulation, nutrition, feeds and feeding, physiology, anatomy, environment and behavior, animal products (milk, meat, eggs and their by-products) and their processing, and livestock economics.
Submission to the Journal is open to those who are interested in animal science, to the members of JSAS and to the Journal's subscribers. Foreign non-members and foreign non-subscribers may submit an Original Article as the first author. When a researcher outside of Japan submits the research result that was carried out in Japan at the time of the Japanese residence, he/she has to become a member of JSAS.

We are very proud to announce that Animal Science Journal has been selected by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to be indexed inMEDLINEthe world's most important biomedical bibliographical database. NLM uses an advisory committee, the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee, composed of authorities knowledgeable in the field of biomedicine, such as physicians, researchers, educators, editors, health science librarians, and historians, to review and recommend the journal titles NLM should index. Only 15-20% of medical journals are selected at each session for inclusion in MEDLINE.The announcement of our inclusion in Index MEDLINE is excellent news for our esteemed authors, our world-class editorial board, and our ever-growing pool of expert peer reviewers, and especially our readers and potential readers.
