More specifically, JSCM has:

• An interdisciplinary focus - the engagement of the top scholars in the fields of supply chain management, operations management, marketing, and strategic management, as evidenced by our world class Advisory, Associate Editor, and Review Boards.

• Published papers by thought leaders and top scholars in the field of supply chain management, as well as related disciplines including marketing channels and strategy (Gary Frazier and Shelby Hunt), transaction cost economics (Oliver Williamson), operations management (Aleda Roth and Barb Flynn), and social network analysis (Steve Borgatti).

• Special topic forums on current issues - supply networks (edited by Tom Choi and Kevin Dooley), sustainable supply chain management (edited by Rob Klassen, Dan Krause, and Stephan Vachon), global supply chain management (edited by Barb Flynn), and archival data analysis in supply chain management research (edited by Roger Calantone and Shawnee Vickery).

• Doubled the submission rate between 2007 and 2008.

• An H-Index for 2008 on par with those of other 'A' level journals, including the Journal of Operations Management and Academy of Management Journal.
