'Every urban scholar and college library should subscribe to City & Community.'

City & Community (C&C) is dedicated to publishing research and theory that explore the social aspects of the metropolis. How do people get attached to places? How do inequalities and differences shape a city and how does the city influence differences and inequalities? How does an Internet community compare to a traditional community? Aimed at exploring the meaning and significance of the metropolis, C&C includes works on immigration, rural communities, social networks, suburbia, urban movements, urban history, and virtual communities among others.

Peter Dreier, Occidental College
'City & Community is the only urban journal I know edited specifically, if not exclusively, for urban sociologists. I like it especially because, thanks to Anthony Orum, its lead articles (and the discussions that accompany it) are devoted to significant or controversial issues in the field. Not many journals do that.'
Herbert J Gans, Columbia University
'In an age of instant global communications, the face-to-face interactions that occur in cities are as important as ever. City & Community gets it, providing cutting edge scholarship on how place matters in the formation of communities. Fills a much-needed gap in the urban literature.'
Todd Swanstrom, St. Louis University
'With its blend of cutting-edge theory and on-the-ground research, City & Community has established itself as a must-read for all urban sociologists in North America. Consistently fascinating and open to all, this is a journal to watch.'
