Molecular Ecology Resources

(Formerly Molecular Ecology Notes)

Impact Factor: 0.0

Molecular Ecology Resources is a vehicle for the rapid dissemination of technical advances in molecular ecology, such as new computer programs, methodological innovations, and molecular marker development. Papers that report on the ecology, evolution, behaviour, and conservation of organisms, rather than on technical issues, should be submitted to our companion publication, Molecular Ecology. We recommend that empirical papers with a strongly applied focus be directed to Evolutionary Applications.

Changes for Molecular Ecology Resources
All PGR Note submissions received after December 31st 2008 will not be printed in Molecular Ecology Resources as individual papers. Instead, each issue will carry a summary article announcing the primers developed for each organism. This change will allow groups that develop primers to receive recognition whilst simultaneously permitting Molecular Ecology Resources to continue its development into a leading methods journal for ecology and evolutionary biology.
In these articles, the first author will be listed as "Molecular Ecology Resources Consortium", and contributing authors will be listed in alphabetical order thereafter. An example paper can be found http://tomato.biol.trinity.edu/micro.pdf . The text of individual PGR Notes will be made available on the Molecular Ecology Resources Primer database at http://tomato.biol.trinity.edu/, where it will be directly linked to the database entry for loci themselves.

DNA Barcoding and Molecular Ecology Resources
In keeping with out commitment to enhance our reputation as a lead publishing venue of DNA barcoding papers, we will be releasing a special issue dedicated to DNA barcoding and work presented at the Canadian Barcode of Life Network 2nd Annual Science Symposium in Toronto in April 2008.
