Policy Studies Organization
Public Policy Section of the American Political Science Association

The Policy Studies Organization (PSO) was founded in 1971. In the last 32 years, PSO has published 250 books, six quarterly journals and one bi-annual journal. In addition to its publishing program, the Policy Studies Organization conducts workshops on policy evaluation methods around the world, placing special emphasis on win-win policy analysis. PSO workshops have been conducted in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Western Europe, and North America. Workshops are conducted at annual conventions in political science, public administration, and public policy, and have been held for numerous government agencies and bar associations. PSO also sponsors conferences, convention panels, luncheons, awards, and other activities.

Membership in the Policy Studies Organization includes a subscription to Policy Studies Journal, Policy & Politics, Asian Politics & Policy, Review of Policy Research, Digest of Middle East Studies, and Latin American Policy, with online access to all available back files for as long as the membership is maintained.


The Organized Section of the American Political Science Association on Public Policy is committed to producing rigorous empirical and theoretical knowledge of the processes and products of governing and the application of that knowledge to critical policy issues.
