Notes for authors
1. The editors will give preference to articles which are succinctly written. Articles should be typed double spaced, and should not normally exceed 25 pages of A4 in total. Overlong papers will be returned without consideration.
2. If the paper presents analysis of data, the relevant questions (about data availability and/or the availability of computer programs) in ScholarOne Manuscripts must be answered.
3. Submission of a paper will be held to imply that it is original work, and that it has not already been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
4. Enquiries can be sent to Professor Paul Miller, Economics M251, The University of Western Australia, 35 Stirling Highway, Crawley, Western Australia, 6009, Australia. Paul.Miller@uwa.edu.au
5. Submission is free to members of the Economic Society of Australia. Members submitting articles should indicate their status on ScholarOne Manuscripts when prompted to do so. The submission fee for non-members is AUD$110.00 (including GST), which must be paid in Australian currency. Payment can be made by Direct Deposit to: Economic Society of Australia, Central Council Inc., BSB 032 024 Account No. 33 3754 (Westpac, Martin Place, Sydney). The Society accepts Visa and Mastercard. Cheques should be made payable to "The Economic Society of Australia". Our ABN is 88 499 826 758. To facilitate the payment of the submission fee, non-members can down load an Economic Record Submission form on www.ecosoc.org.au/files/File/Submissions.pdf or email ecosoc@optushome.com.au.
6. The introduction, conclusion and abstract should be written for the non specialist. Lengthy mathematical presentations should, whenever possible, be located in appendices. Articles will not usually be published if they are minor variations of existing analyses or of interest only to very small and specialized audiences, or if they are mainly descriptive.
7. Sections of the paper should be numbered in Roman numerals; figures and tables in Arabic numerals. Tables and diagrams should be self-contained. A condition of acceptance is that illustrations should be of professional quality and ready for reproduction. If possible, they should be suitable for reduction to single column width.
8. Mathematical notation should be as simple as possible. Equations should be identified by consecutive Arabic numbers (in parentheses) at the conclusion of the equation.
9. Any footnote attached to the main heading should be designated by an asterisk. All other footnotes must be designated by numerals in continuous sequence.
10. All references should be listed alphabetically by the author at the end of the manuscript. The listing style should be that used in recent issues of the journal, and is illustrated by the following examples:
