TopAuthor Guidelines

Article Lengths: Articles under 10,000 words are preferred and articles on new and updated datasets are generally expected to be less than 7,000 words. Articles that exceed the preferred length will need to provide a value of intellectual contribution sufficient to justify the additional space they will require.

Original manuscripts that fall within the aims and scope of International Studies Perspectives may be submitted in two ways. Our preferred means is to receive submissions electronically, via e-mail. Send e-mail to the editors at ispj@pdx.edu, along with two file attachments. One file should have all self-identifying references and language removed, no acknowledgment, and a title page without authors' names or affiliations. Both files should contain an abstract of about 150 words. Acceptable file formats are Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, and PDF. Authors not wishing to submit electronically may send four hardcopies of the manuscript, along with two digital copies on disk, to: Editors, International Studies Perspectives, Mark O. Hatfield School of Government, Portland State University, P. O. Box 751, Portland, OR 97207-0751, USA. Three of the four hardcopies, and one of the two copies on disk, should have all self-identifying references and language removed. Hardcopy submissions and accompanying disks cannot be returned. A manuscript is accepted for review at ISP with the understanding that it is an original analysis, has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under review for publication elsewhere. For more information on submission guidelines and the aims and scope of ISP, please visit www.ispj.pdx.edu.

Deadline for submission of news items for the Profession section are five months prior to issue publication (September 1 for the February issue, etc.). All news items are published at the discretion of the editors and on a space available basis.

The author will receive an e-mail with a unique link that enables them to register and have their article automatically added to the system. Please ensure that a complete e-mail address is provided when submitting the manuscript.
