Call for Review Essays and Book Reviews
In 2010, we are especially interested in considering review essays of three or more recent titles in the fields of political science and international relations. Also, see our dynamic review section for single books available for review, or contact our Book Review Editor with your innovative ideas or suggestions for new books to review.

What kind of papers are accepted?
We pride ourselves on the literary, lucid, accessible quality of the articles published in Politics & Policy. This maintains the broad appeal and readership of the journal that, in turn, provides a particularly attractive forum for authors wishing to reach wider audiences with their research. All manuscripts must therefore aim to be interesting, useful and intelligible to academics outside their subfield as well as providing the insights and perspectives appreciated by specialists. Articles containing excessive use of obscure jargon or highly technical, specialized terminology are actively discouraged. The array of articles we are interested in published in future issues of Politics & Policy fall within the following areas: national and international politics and political issues, political theory, applied political theory, state and local government, American politics, public policy, public administration and comparative politics. We also consider political sociology and political economy manuscripts and particularly welcome submissions that offer an interdisciplinary approach on any of the above subjects. Manuscripts that focus explicitly on the connections between politics and policy in any area are very much encouraged. To reflect the increasing impact of globalization on political and policy issues, we are especially interested in future submissions focusing on international concerns and African, Asian, Australasian, Russian and Eastern European politics and policy.
More specific areas in which future submissions are welcome include, but are not confined to: political apathy and cynicism; citizenship; anti systemic oppositions; gender and racial policy issues; the politics of deregulation and flexibilization; national and international approaches to democratic transitions and consolidations; peace enforcement and democratization in Central Asia; United Nations reform; enforcement of nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaties; normative developments on the conflict between privacy and security, and the ethics of collective intervention.
