faster and with much more capacity
than diskettes, from 200 MB to
- Portable hard drive alternatives -- portable like
large diskettes but store large quantities of data like hard
- CD-ROMs -- massive
portable ROM storage in CD
format readable by a laser beam, about 600 MB.
- Magneto-optical (MO) drives -- magnetic storage medium
like a hard drive but read by a laser like CD-ROM, with massive
capacity up to 2.3 gigabytes on one cartridge.
