Self-Paced Student Web Exercises
- At the Adobe Systems Web site, you will find all kinds of information about their
various graphics software products. For instance, in the Studio section
(
http://www.adobe.com/studio/main.html), check out the Tips & Techniques for
different packages. The Adobe Illustrator tips contains a nice demonstration
called "Preparing Graphics for the Web" illustrating the difference between GIF
and JPEG images, the two graphic formats most commonly found in Web documents.
Browsing in the Art Gallery section allows you to see some of the fine graphics
that users of Adobe products have created.
- Silicon Graphics computers are known for their superb graphics capabilities. Log
onto the Silicon Graphics home page
(http://www.sgi.com) and find the link to a
section called "Serious Fun." Under that heading, look for some of the sample
games that can be downloaded for Silicon Graphics machines. If the browser that
you are using can handle Java files, you may find a game there like Centipedo
that can be played directly on the Web.
