[9.10] Common Graphics Applications
- Video games -- One of the most popular and most
widely recognized computer graphic applications, available in
video arcades
and
home entertainment software.

Presentation graphics
-- Software that produces
graphic representations of information, often used for presentations
at meetings.
- Digitized video -- A process in which a hardware
circuit board on a computer accepts input from a TV or VCR and
converts the images to digital format at a rate of between 15 and
30 frames a second, capturing full-motion video for the computer
screen.
- Multimedia production -- Using authoring software
to combine graphic and
digitized video elements
with text and sound
resources to produce
multimedia presentations
for education, training, and entertainment.
- Computer-aided design (CAD) -- Using computer
graphics software to aid the process of design, especially in
architecture
or
engineering. CAD software
represents interactive
computer graphics
because it allows complicated graphics
repositioning to be carried out in real time.
