Some browsers like Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer support a plug-in architecture which allows users to add a variety of functions to their software. Log onto two of the following plug-in Web sites to find out what multimedia features these programs add to the basic Web browser: Real Audio (http://www.realaudio.com), Internet Wave (http://www.vocaltec.com), PointCast (http://www.pointcast.com), Shockwave (http://www.macromedia.com). You may want to download some of these to enhance your Web surfing.

Then from Finley's home page (http://webster.skypoint.net/members/mfinley/), examine some of his current writings and take the techno-personality test to see what your technological personality is like. After you answer a series of questions, the test will grade you on a scale running from "power user" to "technophobe." Be warned -- you must take the test with a pencil and paper.
