Calculus, Third Edition
Coming this June is Calculus, Third Edition, by
Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, et al. This new edition has the same philosophy
and hallmark features as previous editions--the Rule of Four, an
emphasis on modeling, a flexible approach to technology, and an exposition
students can read--but a different balance of topics. Always working
in collaboration, consortium members and colleagues in mathematics and
client disciplines from all over the world have helped shape the new edition.
The information gathered from users and non-users of the text reflects
the growing consensus for a curriculum that balances new and traditional
topics--and the new third Edition brings together the best of both.
To see the results, you can preview full-color chapters from the new edition
now by registering at www.wiley.com/college/bcs/
041408263/instructors.html. The single variable book will be printed
in June with the combined and multivariable versions available in late
summer for use in fall classes.
Explorations in College Algebra, Second Edition
We are very proud to announce the new edition of Kime
and Clark's Explorations in College Algebra. Like the first edition,
the text leads students on an exploration of how algebra is used to solve
problems, then uses problem-solving to motivate both routine algebraic
skill-building and open-ended inquiries that prepare students for future
courses. Exercises are greatly expanded in the new edition, and a wealth
of materials have been added to the text Web site, including: a Graphing
Calculator Manual, Graph Link Files (for TI-82 or TI-83) or Excel spreadsheet
files with all the data sets used in the course, interactive software for
Mac or PC, and a variety of readings. Please visit www.wiley.com/college/kimeclark
for more information.
