Landscapes & Seascapes

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Forests and fisheries are among the biological resources that have commercial value. Our goal is to conserve these resources for sustained harvest as well as for their recreational, aesthetic, and moral value. This section should foster your understanding of concepts covered in the text specific to forestry, deforestation, forest management, fisheries, whales and other marine mammals.

About 100 million people live in rain forests or depend on them for their livelihood.
