Slide 24: One of the prime tourist spots on the Great Salt Lake is the Saltair Pavilion.  Here you can see it in 1983-84 when it was flooded by the rising lake waters associated with the El Nino of that period that brought excess rainfall and snow to the basin.  The second photo shows reconstruction taking place after the waters receded in 1983.  You can learn much more about the Great Salt lake at the Virtual Fieldtrip mentioned earlier or at the Great Salt Lake Planning Project of the Division of Natural Resources (see the gallery of images).
