The table of contents is very easy to use, and in a few clicks you arrive at your destination.

This Web Site is designed by Matt Rosenberg to present comprehensive coverage of Geography for the initiated student or layperson. Net links are provided for a wide array of regional and systematic geography topics. An on-line bookstore is supported by an annotated bibliography of major publications involving the discipline of Geography and its myriad applications. This Site also offers a guide to maps at various scales, a weekly newsletter, and forums and chats.

Its Web Site is lavishly designed with dazzling color graphics in the Society's accustomed style, and spectacular photographic images abound. Current Geography-related news events are highlighted each week, particularly in the environmental sphere, and the Web Site facilitates the searching of National Geographic archives. Also, a large array of Geography publications, maps and atlases, and other products can be purchased on-line.

A premier Web Site for accessing current population issues worldwide, which can be used to extend the textbook's major demographic table (pp. 36-41) as well as discussions in various chapters (especially Chapter 8). A large array of population data can be accessed by clicking on the "News, Numbers and Analysis" icon. The Bureau's publications are considered highly authoritative, and the Web Site is constantly updated to keep abreast of them.

ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN GEOGRAPHERS

As indicated in the textbook's Appendix B, the AAG is the leading professional organization for geographers based in the United States. It is primarily a scholarly society, but in recent years has expanded its horizon to encompass all aspects of the field, including geographic education. The AAG provides useful directories and services for those interested in Geography graduate work and careers, and undergraduate majors and minors should not miss this Web Site.

The components of this enormous Web Site (accessed via icons on the home page) that are most pertinent for World Regional Geography are "Databases," "UN Member States," and "Economic and Social Development." Current international events and issues are prominently highlighted and include Audio-Visual Webcasts. The Web Site's television, radio, and photo archives section is well worth checking.

This Web Site includes a major component on the world's regions that contains numerous internal links. Politico-geographical issues pervade the Site especially as they connect to such international-affairs topics as geopolitics, U.S. foreign policy and diplomacy, and global peace and security. Current events are a special concern, including daily press briefings and foreign travel advisories for U.S. nationals. Also check out the section on "Digital Diplomacy for Students" that includes a Geography Learning Site.

This NASA Web Site is focused on Earth's physical landscape and provides a global overview of regional landforms as seen from space in the early 1980s. The latter is presented through a series of 237 spectacular, high-resolution photographic images, with each covering a region where a particular landform theme is exemplified. Commentary, photos, locator maps, and sometimes a geologic map accompany each image.
