 Cay Horstmann grew up in Northern Germany and went to the Christian-Albrechts-Univer
sität in Kiel, a harbor town at the Baltic sea. Horstmann received a M.S. in computer science from Syracuse University, and a Ph.D. in mathematics from
the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He now works for Preview Software and teaches computer science at San Jose State University. In his copious spare time he writes books and articles on Java, C++, and object-oriented programming. Click here for a copy of his resume.
