How did you learn about the industry you work in now?

I worked on mostly non-profits and universities. The last training phase I went through helped me to understand the government regulations and all the FASB statements coming out that were affecting non-profits. Along the way I also attended a lot of industry conferences and sat it on those panels dealing with my clients' issues. Even though the meetings were pretty geographically dispersed, I felt I learned quite alot from them.
