INTERACTIVE THERMODYNAMICS: IT has been vastly improved. This software package, available with the book, now includes an equation-solver coupled with thermodynamic property data retrieval. Users can obtain a single numerical solution or vary parameters to investigate their effects. Graphical output can be obtained, and the Windows-based format allows the user to use any Windows word-processing software to generate reports.

Included in the INTERACTIVE THERMODYNAMICS: IT package are pre-determined scenarios for several of the important applications that allow students to investigate important real-world problems.

INTERACTIVE THERMODYNAMICS: IT contains computer-accessible property data for water, Refrigerants 12, 22, 134a, ammonia, and an extensive list of ideal gases and air-water vapor mixtures.

The INTERACTIVE THERMODYNAMICS: IT equation solver can output graphs to the screen or printer.

The Data Browser gives the user the capability to obtain a single numerical solution or to investigate the effects of varying parameters.

Other important features of the software include:

  • an equation-solver capability coupled with thermodynamic property retrieval.
  • look-up table input of user-supplied data.
  • drag-and drop templates for many of the standard problem types, including a listing of assumptions that the student can customize to the problem at hand.
  • help screens and a familiar WINDOWS format.
  • capability to interface with user-supplied subroutines.
  • The software is available in a specially priced set when ordered with the text. To order the Value Pack please refer to ISBN 0-471-13414-7.
